TL:DR game has a rough start but doesn't deserve the hate train that it gets in reality the game is probably anywhere from a 6-8 out of 10 with a decent amount of potential for a follow-up and don't give up hope if we learned anything from the gaming industry there's always a chance anything that becomes a cult classic can get resurrected So as unfortunate as it is that we won't get a forspoken 2 anytime soon there's always a chance that Square Enix brings the game back out the woodworks or the IP could get picked up by someone else. There's also the great example of Bayonetta where no one knew if it would get a sequel and then it got picked up by Nintendo because they saw potential. Hopefully my analogy put some things into perspective and while I personally feel like there should be a bit more grace given to video games because the experience is usually 30 hours or more, but the sentiment still stands that unfortunately the game left a bad first impression on a large group of consumers.Īnd don't give up hope the team who made the game are going through the trouble of making DLC for us who enjoy the game so even though Luminos Studios got dissolved. This also reminds me of a comment I saw in another thread were someone said something along the lines of the game gets good after the first 5 hours. The moment you get out of Cipal the game completely opens up and I think that's what caused a bulk of the bad reception is just the intro sequence. It may not be as big of an issue for others, but I've heard a number of cuffs voice lines and I feel as though they've repeated a lot. You are on training wheels and not really able to control Frey and the scenes feel like they would be better as cutscenes and i went into the options to reduce the frequency cuff talks and I make go back and lower it some more. I can't speak for everyone when I say this, but the intro to the game is rough. I like the combat a lot the aesthetics of the world are great and there is some neat lore to look into. I'm like 30 or so hours into forspoken and I'm gonna be honest the game is really fun.
